What your round earns, costs and leaves for your time.

Your estimated business revenue less the expenses and loan repayments you've entered, before personal tax and owner drawings.

Revenue excludes GST and expenses exclude only the GST marked as claimable. This is a GST-adjusted planning estimate, not a bank-account balance; GST collections and payments affect cash timing.

This is a business planning estimate, not an accounting profit calculation or tax advice. Actual results depend on your expenses, GST treatment and individual circumstances.

grooms per working week · estimated break-even

Calculated target: 5.58 grooms/week, rounded up to whole grooms. This covers entered expenses and loan repayments, not owner drawings or personal tax.

Per-groom entries, including selected-size liquid and disposable calculations, are treated as variable. Other entries are held constant at their current annual amount. Frequency alone does not prove a cost is truly fixed.

Assumes the same average price, product usage and working weeks. Missing expenses and any owner-pay target are not included.

How are these figures calculated?
Revenue and operating cost per groom
Revenue is your average customer price, divided by 1.1 if GST registered. Cost per groom is annual operating expenses divided by annual grooms. Annual grooms = grooms per week × working weeks.
Estimated Business Cash Surplus
Total annual business revenue = grooming revenue + other revenue. Cash surplus = total annual business revenue − entered expenses and loan repayments. Average surplus per grooming week = annual cash surplus ÷ weeks worked grooming. A negative result means entered costs exceed revenue.
Effective hourly business return
Annual surplus ÷ (total hours worked per week × working weeks). The optional breakdown adds grooming and on-road hours to additional business hours, counting each hour once. This spreads the surplus over all your working time, not just time grooming dogs. It is a business return, not an hourly wage or take-home pay.
Break-even
Fixed annual costs ÷ working weeks ÷ (revenue per groom − variable cost per groom). More grooms only help cover fixed costs when each groom leaves a positive amount after variable costs.
What the estimate cannot know
Only entered expenses are counted. The model does not track owner pay, income tax, cash-flow timing or how weekly fuel and lead spending change with groom numbers. Liquid costs use the selected dog size, not a weighted mix of all sizes. If GST registered, only marked claimable GST is removed: the specified GST amount, or 1/11 of the entered cost when that optional amount is blank. Loan principal is not normally tax-deductible; interest and depreciation may have different tax treatment. No depreciation or tax deductions are calculated.
